Carpet to Tile Transition
The transitions from carpet to tile are something that most homeowners never think twice about. We understand why they are not the centerpiece of a home, but they still need to maintained.
A damaged carpet to tile transition will leave your carpet susceptible to being torn, frayed and curled.
If you newly installed tile or wood flooring, we highly recommend replacing your transitions.
There are two options that you can choose from when it comes to your carpet to tile transition repair.
Option 1: Re-stretch carpet to meet tile
This option is perfect for carpet that is even with the floor. We simply re-stretch your carpet to meet the new tile. This will give you a nice clean look.
Option 2: Transition strips
This is an option that we do not use as often but could be appropriate for you depending on your situation. Transition strips create a smooth joint between carpet and tile. They typically come in rubber, wood or metal.
We are not huge fans of transition strips because they are not pretty to look at and most of the time they are unnecessary. We can discuss which option is best for your home.
